Fundraising for NICUs
Our aim with ByBoet is to raise funds to support research and contribute to medical equipment for NICUs. To add to this, based on our own experiences, we want to provide less medically-essential items for NICUs, that are so very important to support the babies and their families.

Last April, it finally happened! We could go to MCRI and RCH (Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne) to handover a cheque with 20,500$! We are so immensely proud of all we have achieved. We couldn't have done it without your support, dedication and love.
The funds will be used to support research. Research lead by one of Boet's main doctors, Associate Professor David Tingay. The research aims to better understand preterm lung function straight after birth.

Our 2022 fundraiser
We are ready for this year's fundraiser! The superhero day will take place on November 25. We will get our bakesale going again for those delicious Dutch/Boet cookies and cakes and early 2023 we will organise a physical challenge again.
Our fundraising efforts will go again to research at the Murdoch Children's Reseach Institute. Here is a little video of research already completed for full-term babies.
Funds raised will support MCRI's Associate Professor David Tingay and his research to better understand newborn infants' respiratory outcomes. Through this research, David and his team hope to develop new ways to diagnose preterm lung injury, allowing doctors to properly treat preterm babies at the right time to improve quality of life and life expectancy. As you can imagine, this research is very close to our hearts and has a very strong alignment to everything ByBoet stands for; We want to help to the next Boet to make it home.
Superhero Day!
The Superhero Day was initiated in 2020 by our then 7 year old daughter Caat. After Boet passed away and we decided to launch ByBoet, Caat wanted to play a role as well. She wanted to involve the community and came up with the idea of a Superhero Day, in memory of our little Superhero. With full support of us she approached her school, Saltwater P-9 College. They jumped in and supported by making a little video, the Superhero Day was born. Last year we organised it again, this time it was driven by our two eldest daughters Caat and Eef. Again with the support of the school and the result was amazing, more schools and daycare centers participated and we raised an amazing amount for research even with all the curveballs COVID-19 threw at us.
So here we are, it is 2022 and fingers crossed for no lockdowns. We have solidified our partnership with MCRI (Murdoch Children's Research Institute) and we are looking to make the Superhero Day 2022 bigger and better than it has ever been! The Superhero Day is planned for November 25, 2022. However, don't worry if this date doesn't suit your school or daycare center. We can support and help organise it on any day of the year.
We need your help! As we would love to see as many Superheroes as possible and get as many schools, day-cares, friends and family involved. So how can you help us? Please introduce us to your school or day-care and help us organise a Superhero Dress-up Day at your school and day-care! Send an email to info@byboet.org or ask your school or day-care to reach out and we will get in touch. We have a school pack ready to go including a poster, colouring in sheet, a little factsheet and more. It has never been easier to organise a fundraiser!
So let’s do this! A fun day for all the kids whilst supporting a great cause.
We can’t wait to see all the Superhero’s!

Superhero Day 2021
Yes, we will eat (and bake) cookies again!

Last year we baked over 25 kg pepernoten, 21 stroopwafel cake loafs, 20 pepernoten cake loafs and 29 Christmas/ end of year gifts. But our biggest hit last year were the little taste packs, we made 43 of them.
This year we will bake again of course and we might even add a few new little items on the menu.
We will start on November 1 and will bake all the way through his birthday on December 21. So mark this in your calendars.
Boet's walk
We are planning to organise a walk early 2023 in memory of Boet. We will release information about this walk as soon as we can!
Last year we organised a scavenger hunt to celebrate Boet's birthday. Which was very successful.
